Прослава Славе Сабора Светог Јована Крститеља – Јовањдан

У петак 20. јануара прославили смо празник Сабора Светог Јована Крститеља, посвећен Светом Пророку, Претечи и Крститељу Јовану, који је у своје време у реци Јордан крштавао верни народ, па и Господа Исуса Христа. Овај велики православни празник многи славе и као крсну славу. Јовањдан смо у нашем храму обележили светом литургијом, током које смо се кроз читање Светог Јеванђеља и беседу протојереја о. Алексе Мићића подсетили живота и подвижништва Светог Јована Крститеља. Након литургије одржана је церемонија благосиљања славских дарова присутних свечара. Касније у току дана, крсну славу Светог Јована Крститеља у нашем парохијском дому су прославили наш драги пријатељ и брат Вељко Самарџић, као и наши парохијани и домаћини нашег парохијског дома, Живојин и Драгица Обрадовић. У недељу 22. јануара своју крсну славу Светог Јована Крститеља је у нашем парохијском дому прославио и г. Душан Грујић, председник парохијског црквеног одбора.

Свим свечарима желимо срећну славу и свако добро од Светог Јована и Господа нашег Исуса Христа.

Celebration of the Synaxis of Saint John the Holy Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptist

On Friday, January 20^th our parish celebrated the holiday of Saint John the Holy Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptist. Saint John the Baptist in his time was baptizing the faithful in the River Jordan, including our Lord Jesus Christ. Many of the faithful celebrate Saint John the Baptist as their Patron Saint – Slava. We celebrated this holiday in our church with a divine liturgy officiated by Very Rev. Protopresbyter Aleksa Micich. During the divine liturgy we recalled the life and ascetism of Saint John the Baptist through the reading of the Holy Gospel and the sermon by Fr. Aleksa Micich. After the liturgy Fr. Micich was joined by the faithful in the blessing of the Slava gifts – wheat (koljivo), wine, and festal breads (slavski kolachi). Later in the day, the Patron Saint John the Baptist was celebrated in the parish hall by our dear friend and brother Veljko Smardzić and his guests, as well as our dear parishoners and cathedral custodians Živojin and Dragica Obradović. On Sunday, January 22, Patron Saint John the Baptist was also celebrated in the parch hall by our parish council president Mr. Dušan Grujićand his guests.
